Chris3.jpg

Dr. Christopher Kui

President. I am an Academic FY2 doctor working in the Newcastle Upon Tyne NHS Hospitals Trust. I completed my MBBS and Masters of Research in Cancer (Distinction) at Newcastle University. My interests lie with oncology, surgery, and medical education - I really enjoy teaching junior colleagues and medical students!

This year, I hope to further expand the influence of M3dicube across the UK beyond our current sites and to continue developing workshops that utilise 3D-printed models. (christopher.kui@nhs.net)

Dr. Matthew Lee

Treasurer. I am a junior doctor with a passion for health innovation and medical education. I completed foundation training at St. Thomas' Hospital and am now undertaking a Master’s in Healthcare Technologies at King’s College London alongside my involvement in the NHS Entrepreneur Programme. I have published my work with 3D-printing technology in the context of congenital heart disease.

As co-founder, ex-president and now treasurer - I hope to apply my skillset in innovation and entrepreneurship to develop M3dicube UK.

Cyrus Chan

Vice-President. I am a third-year medical student at Newcastle University and Secretary for M3dicube Newcastle. Since encountering 3D-printing while working in underwater robotics several years ago, I have become actively involved in this field and am genuinely excited about its applications within medicine.

I plan to develop and run workshops to introduce 3D-printing and CAD software to participants, in order to help them develop their skillsets and grow their passion!

Krishan Nandapalan

Education Director. I am a fifth-year medical student at Newcastle University and Treasurer for M3dicube Newcastle. This year I am undertaking an intercalated MRes in Biofabrication and Bioprinting.

I plan to facilitate the creation of new workshops to cover a range of new skills that members will be able to learn and use. I have a strong interest in making medical simulation training models using 3D-printing and other materials, and hope to share my knowledge to the wider M3dicube community.

Rachel Lee

Secretary. I am a third-year medical student at Barts and The London. I became captivated by the potential of 3D-printing after holding a 3D-printed heart for the first time at a M3dicube event, and am very excited to be able to contribute towards this field.

This year, I plan to work alongside other members of the committee to coordinate the administrative side of M3dicube and ensure all events run smoothly. I aim to continue to raise awareness of 3D-printing in medicine by increasing access and interest in our events.
