Who Are We?

M3dicube was founded in 2018 by a group of medical students who shared a passion for medical education and coincidentally, the same hospital placement. Over the course of many long bus journeys, they discovered a mutual interest in 3D printing and recognised its exciting ability to enhance the learning experience!

Clinical medicine is constantly being shaped by the integration of novel technology. Whilst medical school curricula are frequently updated, modes of delivery remain largely traditional - innovative changes are desperately needed to make learning both more stimulating and refreshing.

Educational benefits can be observed through engaging with 3D-printed models or by creating them - the process of developing 3D-print models from CT/MRI scans is an interactive, low-cost and highly flexible adjunct to teaching topics such as anatomy and radiology.

As a national interest 3D-printing group, our goals are to:

  • Enhance awareness of 3D-printing in medicine, through hosting workshops and seminars through our individual university societies.

  • Improve access to 3D-printing, through creating teaching materials, sharing access to a database of developed models, providing guidance for projects.

  • Connect students and healthcare professionals with a passion for 3D-printing, through our website, social media and eventually by hosting national events!
